Kavouras Panagiotis, Dr.Email: email@example.com
Panagiotis Kavouras studied Physics at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh), from where he received MSc degree in Physics of Materials and PhD diploma in Technology of Materials. His PhD Thesis studied the ability to stabilize solid industrial wastes with the method of vitrification and the subsequent production of glass-ceramic materials with tailored microstructure, for their physicochemical and mechanical properties tuning. From 2004 until 2006 he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Physics, AUTh. From 2007 until 2009 he worked at the Hellenic Institute of Metrology (EIM), Section of Mechanical Quantities, Volume and Liquid Flow Laboratories, as a scientific stuff. From 2010 until 2015 he worked as a researcher at TEI of Thessaloniki and Department of Physics, AUTh. At 2015 he joined R-NANO research group. From 2006 until 2015 he taught Physics courses as an adjunct teaching stuff at the Technological and Educational Institutes (TEI) of West Macedonia and Thessaloniki. His research interests are related to: (a) synthesis and structural, micro-structural and morphological characterization of vitreous, glass-ceramic and ceramic materials and (b) with the characterization of mechanical properties at the micro-scale and nano-scale of a wide range of materials. He has published 35 papers in peer reviewed scientific journals that have received 300 cited references and he is a reviewer in four scientific journals. He has published one textbook in basic Electrism and Magnetism that has been used for educational purposes at the TEI of Thessaloniki since 2012.
